Marriage Record
San Miguel de Ures, 1778
- In this Pueblo of San Miguel de los Ures, on the twenty-second of November of [seventeen] seventy-eight (before me, the undersigned Father Minister), there were married in facie Ecclesiæ, by words of the present tense which make true Matrimony: Joseph María Carmelo, native of San Juan de Sonora, vecino for three years at the Presidio de San Miguel and residing in this Pueblo de Ures, legitimate son of Joseph Carmelo and of Nicolasa Mondarra [?]; and María Moreno, native of San Joseph de Gracia, vecina of the said San Miguel for the same span of three years and residing in this [pueblo], legitimate daughter of Nicolás Moreno and of Anna, deceased; all the diligences prescribed by the Holy Council of Trent having preceded them, and the banns having been read in this Church and in that of San Miguel on three feast days inter Missarum solemnia, and no impediment resulting against them. They did not receive the nuptial veiling because she is a widow, but they attended the Mass of their second nuptials. Witnesses to seeing them married were Don Juan Bautista Casanoba, Don Rafael Estrella, and Vicente Andrade; and so that it be of record, I signed it.
