Death

• Mr. Rufus Watrous of this city was sitting on the railway track, just north of the crossing, when the early morning train came down from Springfield this (Wednesday) morning. The engineer saw him a short distance ahead, and gave the alarm. He did not move off, and the brakes were put down, but the train reached him before it could be stopped. He was much bruised and his skull was broken. He lived but a short time.—Mr W. was 58 years of age. He was quite feeble, having recently been afflicted by paralysis. He leaves a family.—Hartford Times.
